Protecting Wildlife Beyond Our Preserve
Conservation and the protection of species in the wild is one of the core pillars of Amazing Animals Inc. We care deeply about the natural world and believe that protecting wildlife means looking beyond the animals in our care. The animals who live at Amazing Animals are ambassadors for their wild counterparts, helping us inspire people to understand, appreciate, and ultimately protect wildlife and wild places.
Every visit to Amazing Animals helps support conservation beyond our gates.
Through our tours, educational programs, and animal experiences, we help provide financial support for conservation partners and projects working directly with wildlife in the field. We are proud to have two long-term conservation partners whose work reflects our commitment to protecting wildlife in its natural habitat.
Felinos Do Pampa
Our work with Felinos do Pampa supports conservation efforts focused on wild felids in Brazil, including the Geoffroy’s cat. We support long-term monitoring of Geoffroy’s cats in the wild. This work helps researchers better understand their natural history, movements, habitat use, and the challenges these cats face in an increasingly fragmented landscape. Understanding how these animals live in the wild is an essential part of protecting them. Our support helps contribute to ongoing efforts to study wild populations, better understand their habitat, protect important environments, and identify ways to mitigate human-wildlife conflict.
RAREC — Rainforest Awareness Rescue Education Centre
Our second long-term conservation partner is RAREC — Rainforest Awareness Rescue Education Centre, located in the Peruvian Amazon near Iquitos. RAREC rescues and rehabilitates Amazonian wildlife while working with local communities to promote conservation and sustainable alternatives that reduce pressure on the rainforest. Their work includes wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, research, environmental education, and efforts to return rehabilitated animals to the wild. RAREC has rescued and rehabilitated numerous species, including sloths, ocelots, tapirs, anteaters, manatees, primates, and other Amazonian wildlife. When an animal can successfully return to its natural habitat, release is the ultimate goal. We have supported RAREC’s efforts to help wildlife affected by illegal trafficking and the wildlife trade, including animals that have been removed from the wild and require extensive rehabilitation before they can potentially return home. One example is RAREC’s work with rescued sloths. Their rehabilitation programs have successfully prepared animals for release back into the Amazon, including animals that arrived after being orphaned or kept illegally as pets.
From Our Animals to the Wild
The connection between Amazing Animals and conservation in the wild is intentional. When you meet one of our animals, you’re not just meeting an individual animal—you are meeting an ambassador for an entire species. A sloth at Amazing Animals can inspire someone to care about sloths in the Amazon. A wild cat ambassador can help someone understand why protecting habitat matters for cats living thousands of miles away. A capybara can open the door to conversations about South American ecosystems and the threats facing wildlife in those environments.
That is the power of an ambassador animal.

A portion of what we earn through our programs helps us support our conservation partners and their work protecting wildlife, conducting research, supporting rescue and rehabilitation, and helping conserve the habitats these animals depend upon.
